WBC bantamweight champ, unbeaten Japanese southpaw Shinsuke Yamanaka (24-0-2, 17 KOs) showed a public workout on Tuesday and proved he was in very good shape before many press people at the Teiken Gym in Tokyo, Japan. Yamanaka, making his tenth defense, will participate in a voluntary defense with Venezuelan Liborio Solis (23-3-1, 10 KOs) in Kyoto on March 4. His pulverizing left hand, called gGodfs Lefth, is expected to explode within the distance to produce his seventh knockout in defending his WBC belt.
On Wednesday, WBC 108-pound champ, newly crowned Japanese Yu Kimura (18-2-1, 3 KOs), Yamanakafs stablemate, also displayed a fine public workout prior to his initial defense with Mexican Ganigan Lopez (26-6, 17 KOs) in a twinbill along with Yamanaka.
The doubleheader will be staged by Teiken Promotions, and it is already reported that all tickets have been sold out because of Yamanakafs popularity at his native district.
